- How can we break frree from the constraints of our knowledge, timetables and school walls?
- How can learners (both students and staff) support each other’s learning?
- How can we facilitate our learners to get What they need, When they need it?
- How can we form more effective partnerships with our wider community?
Life@School will provide the Next Generation Learning Platform to cater for learners ranging from Nursery through Primary and Secondary to Sixth Form. Life@School will combine familiar online tools (eg; forums, blogs, wikis, messaging, task setting, quizzes, assessments, integrations) with emerging technologies (eg; user-authored Learning Apps, semantic learning seraching, Web3) which will enable teachers to facilitate learning, and students to personalise their experience.
Life@School makes content, people, tools and resources discoverable and empowers every learner to make choices. Building on the success of the social uses of Web2.0, Life@School prompts opportunities such as:
“If you’re good at… then you might like…”
“You’re good at… you might like to connect with…”
Through the openness of Life Learning Cells and Learning Apps, and the importance of each learner’s preferences and profile, everyone can benefit from an open community of sharing learning experiences, learning resources and learning opportunities; seeing and using those most relevant to them.
This means that every learner is encouraged to achieve their goals and most importantly, is supported in making this happen.
